The Strategy

Is the bot fully automated?

Yes. The system is designed around automated execution and systematic decision-making while maintaining strict risk management principles.

Does the bot trade Gold only?

The current production version is focused on Gold (XAUUSD), where the strategy has been specifically developed and optimized.

Are future markets planned?

Yes. Expansion into additional asset classes is being researched and will only occur after rigorous testing and validation.

Are the strategy rules public?

No. The methodology, models, parameters, and implementation details remain confidential intellectual property of Trade Routes AB.

Does the system guarantee profits?

No. All financial market trading involves risk. Past performance is not indicative of future results.

The Platform

What exactly do I get with a license?

A Windows desktop application: a launcher where you select the instrument and strategy module, and an execution dashboard for the selected instrument. The launcher exposes the instrument tree (Metals, Forex, Indices, Crypto) and the strategy modules available for each instrument, with locked modules shown as research phase.

What does the execution dashboard show?

Session state and connection status, risk per trade, maximum lot, the leverage input, live position and PnL metrics, a live chart of the traded symbol with signal markers, and an event terminal that logs every signal, order, modification and error in sequence.

What can I configure myself?

Trading session window, risk per trade, maximum capital risk, maximum lot size, maximum daily trades, maximum spread, and the strategy module to run. Strategy internals — signal models, parameters and thresholds — are not user-editable.

How do I get the software after buying a license?

The platform is not publicly downloadable. After your license is purchased and issued, support emails you a private, time-limited download link for the Trade Routes package, together with your .lic license file and installation instructions.

What do I need to run it?

Windows, an installed MetaTrader 5 terminal from your broker, a funded live account (500 USD recommended minimum), and the terminal64.exe copied into the Trade Routes folder. The platform connects only to that terminal.

Licensing

How is the license issued?

Each license is locked to the product type, your MT5 account number, MT5 server, and computer (PC fingerprint). It validates product, account, server, PC ID, expiry date and signature. If any value does not match, the platform will not start.

What information do I need to send to receive a license?

Run Get_PCID.exe from the Trade Routes folder — it displays your PC ID. Your MT5 account number and server come from your live broker account. Send those three fields to support@traderoutes.se, and you will receive a .lic file to place in the same folder.

Can I change my broker or MT5 account after activation?

Not while the bot is running. To switch accounts: stop the bot, close MetaTrader 5, log in to the new account, obtain a new license and start the bot again.

My license expired — what now?

Contact Trade Routes Support for renewal.

MetaTrader 5 Setup

Do I need my own MetaTrader 5?

Yes. Download MT5 from your broker, log into your live account and verify that balance and market prices update. Copy terminal64.exe into the Trade Routes folder — the platform only connects to that dedicated terminal — then open the terminal, log in, and leave it running the entire time the platform is running.

Which Gold symbol does the bot use?

The bot automatically searches for XAUUSD, XAUUSD+, XAUUSD., XAUUSDM, XAUUSDPRO, XAUUSDPRO., GOLD, GOLD+ and GOLDM. If no compatible symbol is available, the startup stops.

Can I run other MT5 installations at the same time?

Yes. Trade Routes Platform only interacts with TradeRoutesPlatform\terminal64.exe. Your other MT5 installations for manual trading or other systems are unaffected.

What happens if MT5 disconnects?

The bot detects the disconnect and automatically attempts reconnection. Once MT5 is back online, you'll see MT5 RECONNECTED and the strategy resumes.

Risk Management

What protections are built in?

Daily loss limit, daily trade limit, consecutive-loss lockout, session filter, dynamic ATR-based stops, fractional-equity position sizing, breakeven protection and adaptive trailing stops.

When does the bot stop trading for the day?

When any of these are reached: the configured daily loss limit, the daily trade cap, or the consecutive-loss limit. Trading resumes automatically on the next session.

Is there a minimum recommended balance?

The recommended minimum is 500 USD for proper lot sizing and risk management. The platform periodically warns when balance falls below that threshold. A larger balance allows finer position sizing and better strategy performance.

Why 500 USD — what is the maths behind it?

Position size is derived from volatility, not guessed. The stop distance is a multiple of ATR, and the lot size is whatever makes that stop cost exactly your risk budget: Risk in USD = Balance × Risk % Stop distance (USD per ounce) = ATR × ATR multiplier Value of 1.00 lot on XAUUSD = 100 USD per 1.00 USD price move Lot = Risk in USD ÷ (Stop distance × 100) The broker's minimum tradable lot is 0.01, and the platform rounds down to the broker's lot step. If the mathematically correct lot is below 0.01, the result is 0.00 lots and the trade is skipped rather than taken at an oversized risk.

Worked example — 500 USD vs 200 USD account

Assume 1% risk per trade and a stop of 1.5 × ATR. NORMAL VOLATILITY (ATR = 3.00 USD) Stop distance = 1.5 × 3.00 = 4.50 USD Cost of 0.01 lot = 4.50 × 100 × 0.01 = 4.50 USD • 500 USD account: risk budget = 5.00 USD → lot = 5.00 ÷ (4.50 × 100) = 0.011 → rounded down = 0.01 lot. Trade is taken, actual risk 4.50 USD (0.90% of balance). • 200 USD account: risk budget = 2.00 USD → lot = 2.00 ÷ (4.50 × 100) = 0.0044 → rounded down = 0.00 lot. Trade is skipped because the smallest lot the broker allows would risk 4.50 USD = 2.25% of the account. HIGH VOLATILITY (ATR = 8.00 USD) Stop distance = 1.5 × 8.00 = 12.00 USD Cost of 0.01 lot = 12.00 USD • 500 USD account: risk budget = 5.00 USD → lot = 5.00 ÷ 1200 = 0.0042 → 0.00 lot, trade skipped. • 200 USD account: risk budget = 2.00 USD → 0.0017 → 0.00 lot, trade skipped. This is why 500 USD is the recommended floor: it lets the account trade normal-volatility setups at the correct size, and it deliberately skips trades when ATR expands beyond what the balance can carry. A 200 USD account skips most valid setups, so the strategy simply cannot express its edge.

Operational

Can I run multiple copies of Trade Routes Platform at once?

No. Single-instance protection is enforced. Starting multiple copies simultaneously is not supported.

Where are logs stored?

Trading activity is stored in logs\history.log. Error and crash information is stored in logs\crash.log.

Does the bot trade around the clock?

No. It trades only within the configured trading hours (Session Start and Session End). Outside the session, it stays idle and waits.

Broker & Eligibility

Do I need an account with a specific broker?

No. The software is broker-agnostic and runs on any MetaTrader 5 account with the pairs you license (currently XAUUSD — Gold) and automated execution enabled. Any broker we list is shown for information only and using it is entirely optional.

Does a referral link affect my license fee?

No. Any rebate we may receive from a brokerage is entirely separate from the software license fee, and we do not use pricing as an incentive to direct you to any broker.

Which countries are restricted?

The Trade Routes platform is not offered in the United States, Belgium or Japan, nor in territories subject to European Union sanctions. Traffic from these locations is blocked automatically, and licenses are not issued to residents there.

What do I need to complete at the broker?

Account registration, identity verification (KYC), proof of address if required, and any additional verification the broker requests. After approval, fund the account with the amount you intend to trade.

Installation Step by Step

What is the full installation sequence?

1. Open and verify your live broker account. 2. Fund the account. 3. Download and install MetaTrader 5 from your broker. 4. Run Get_PCID.exe (download it from www.traderoutes.se). 5. Contact Trade Routes support to license a product and provide your MT5 account number, server name and PC ID. 6. You receive an invoice to be paid — send the payment confirmation to support. 7. Your license file, receipt and download link are provided by support. 8. Copy the .lic file that you receive into the product folder. 9. Copy terminal64.exe from your MT5 installation into the product folder and log in. 10. Run the Trade Routes executable, choose your product and start the platform.

What does the product folder look like?

TradeRoutesPlatform\ TradeRoutesPlatform.exe Get_PCID.exe terminal64.exe TradeRoutes_<TradingStrategy>_<AccountNumber>.lic README.md

Where do I find terminal64.exe?

Inside your MetaTrader 5 installation, typically C:\Program Files\MetaTrader 5\. Copy it into the Trade Routes folder — the platform connects only to that copy.

What is the license file named?

TradeRoutes_<TradingStrategy>_<AccountNumber>.lic — it must sit in the same folder as the product executable.

How do I know which MT5 terminal is being used?

At startup, the platform prints a confirmation line showing the terminal path it connected to, e.g. USING MT5 TERMINAL | C:\TradeRoutesPlatform\terminal64.exe.

Monitoring & Reporting

What does the daily summary contain?

Daily PnL, buy and sell sweep counts, maximum sweep sizes, buy and sell order counts and the number of rejected confirmations. It is generated at the start of each new trading day.

How do I know when a stop has been moved?

Breakeven protection reports a locked-profit line with ticket and locked amount once the trigger level is reached; trailing updates report the ticket and trail count.

What happens when a limit is hit?

The platform prints the reason and the exact figures — daily loss limit, daily trade limit or consecutive loss limit — and stops trading until the next session.

What does the low balance warning mean?

Balance is below the recommended minimum for proper position sizing. The platform keeps running but warns periodically; increasing balance improves lot granularity and strategy performance.

How do I know the session state?

Outside the configured Session Start and Session End, the platform reports that it is outside the trading session and waits without scanning the market.

Troubleshooting

terminal64.exe not found

Confirm that terminal64.exe has been copied into the Trade Routes product folder. The platform will not start without it.

License file not found

Confirm the .lic file is inside the product folder next to the executable, with the exact filename issued by support.

No MT5 account connected

Open terminal64.exe from inside the Trade Routes folder and log in to the licensed account before starting the platform.

License belongs to another account

The account currently logged in does not match the licensed account. Log in to the correct account or request a new license from support.

License expired

Contact Trade Routes Support for renewal.

MT5 connection lost

The platform reports the lost connection and retries automatically. On success, it reports MT5 RECONNECTED with the active symbol and the strategy resumes.

Disclaimer

What risk disclosure applies?

Trading foreign exchange, CFDs, futures, leveraged products and precious metals involves substantial risk. Past performance does not guarantee future results. Trade Routes Platform is provided as a technical and educational trading tool and does not guarantee profits. Always test on a demo account before trading live funds. Use at your own risk.

Does Trade Routes manage my money?

No. Trade Routes AB does not manage client money, does not log in to client accounts, does not exercise discretion over client accounts or manually make trading decisions on your behalf and does not guarantee profits. Once activated by the user, the licensed software generates and executes orders automatically according to its programmed methodology and the user-defined risk parameters.

Pricing, Leverage & Jurisdiction

Is the licensing price dependent on the choice of broker?

No, because varying a software fee according to which broker a client uses would function as a financial inducement under MiFID II — regulators treat it as directing retail traders toward a particular broker. Trade Routes AB is a software vendor, so pricing is uniform, brokers are suggestions only, and any rebate we receive from a brokerage is disclosed and kept entirely separate from what you pay for the license.

Does Trade Routes' algorithm depend on my account leverage?

The platform does not impose any leverage restrictions, as leverage is determined when you open your live account at your broker platform. While leverage can significantly increase both potential gains and losses and should be used with caution, Trade Routes algorithms are designed to be completely independent of leverage levels. Through a comprehensive risk management framework, the algorithms maintain their trading logic and risk controls regardless of the leverage applied to the account.

Which leverage value should I use?

For EU-regulated retail accounts, as a suggestion, set the input to 20 for Gold and 30 for major Forex pairs, matching ESMA retail leverage caps. For international accounts operating on higher leverage, set the input to the leverage your brokerage applies to the instrument you trade.

Does leverage change the 500 USD minimum recommendation?

It changes the risk profile, not the arithmetic of lot sizing. A 500 USD account carries significantly higher relative drawdown risk on tight 20:1 EU retail margin than on an offshore account at up to 500:1, because a smaller balance supports fewer valid position sizes and a single volatility expansion consumes a larger share of usable margin. Higher leverage does not reduce risk — it enlarges both the position the account can carry and the speed at which capital can be lost.

Is Trade Routes giving me financial advice or a broker recommendation?

No. The platform is a technical tool supplied for analytical and educational purposes. We do not provide investment advice, personal recommendations, broker recommendations or trade guarantees, and the end-user assumes 100% of the risk. Full terms are on the Terms & License Agreement page.
